From what we were told, a very clean, very straight car that underwent a near $50,000 restoration to very exacting standards.   And having owned these cars since my first, a 1959 four seater back in 1974, I would guess it is just about the best I have ever seen on the road, in our showroom, or in shows.

(expect, possibly, for my own four seater but this statement might be fueled by a bit of  ego)

Excellent chassis, no damage, no repairs, no patching.  And excellent wood frame and sheet metal, (I went over the exterior with my kitchen magnet, found no plastic filler), beautiful paint, and yes, a bit `over restored` (as are my own three Morgans).

From the factory, these cars were the height of crude simplicity.  Rubber matting instead of carpeting, black paint (more resembling tar) on the firewall and under the fenders, simple door panels, on and on.  But not this gorgeous Morgan.

Thoroughly carpeted, even on the firewall in the footwells, completely disassembled and painted under the fenders (much as was done on period MGs), beautiful door pockets, this is one nicely done restoration.

And the basics.....rebuilt 2138cc TR4 engine (a touch more powerful than the original 1991cc TR3...not to worry, all of these engines are pretty much the same externally the only real difference is the bore diameter of the wet liner sleeves....so, yes, this IS probably the original engine, just a bit more powerful), excellent Moss 4 speed transmission, rebuilt (disc) brakes, new cloth wiring harness, all new electrics, rebuilt and re-decaled original gauges (cost over $2,000 alone), redone seats, top, tonneau, wood dash (that shines like a mirror), chrome, trim, the list is endless.  Including such details as a thoroughly cleaned fuel tank, new radiator and (as you can see) wire wheels with new radial tires.

So, sure, the SECOND BEST Morgan 4 seater I have ever seen (and no, my little gem is not for sale).  And a great and usable collector`s car.

While most period sports cars, think AH 3000, Porsche 356 and 911, TR3, Alfa GTV, etc. have `jump seats` in the back, a Morgan four seater has four usable seats.  For adults.  Even BIG adults as my son is 6`3`and around 275 pounds and has fitted nicely in the back, even with his girlfriend.  Okay, not exactly for four hundred mile excursions but for a five mile trip, no issue.   So,  yes, with a four seater Morgan, you can double date.

A few years ago, was at The Home Deposit with my `other` Morgan four seater.  And saw an assembled full size BBQ grlle (I hate to assemble them).  In the back seat, bungied down on the optional luggage rack, and brought it home.   Try THAT in a two seater.

Wonderful for the proverbial country drive but even if you come across a tag sale, of two, you can get home without being empty handed.  And great for grocery shopping.

But it goes beyond the above...a typical `period` Morgan two seater`s seats consist of a wood board topped by a thin cushion with an inner tube inside for springing.  While a four seater has proper seat springs, the seats are adjustable fore and aft and even have back rest angle adjusters.  AMAZING, at least by ancient British car standards.

So, a great car,   Hasn`t seen many miles since the restoration was completed (actually.....50 miles), in our showroom and ready for a fun Summer and Fall, is there a better time to cruise through the twisty roads of New England than Fall?
