1972 MG BGT

Beautiful car just acquired in California.........rust free floors/chassis, excellent body (went over it with a magnet, no bondo anywhere). Last owner told us this car spent 34 years in Arizona before he acquired it, repainted five years ago, and engine rebuilt several years ago.
It certainly runs very well, assisted by its 32/36 DGV Weber carb. And a wonderful cruiser with its overdrive....for those not in the know, a '5th gear' that is actuated via a column stalk. Really sweet to watch the revs drop when the switch is hit.
Excellent interior, appears to have been recently done,, very good chrome and trim, wire wheels, oil cooler, all in all, a very nice touring sports car.
AND we can add such options as a full fabric sunroof (as I did on my own white 1974 MGBGT), a/c, a powerful supplemental heater unit, from my own experience, one can use these cars as a rational substitute for a contemporary car. Easy cruising at 80+ mph, economical, inherently reliable, fun to drive, and with all the room under the rear hatchback.
And very stylish.
