TWO OWNERS SINCE NEW, last owner since 1966, 64,000 absolutely original miles, always garaged and babied. Excellent chassis, wood framing, and sheet metal. Excellent chrome and trim, Even excellent original wiring. Working original heater, all correct/original switches, gauges, even the original two prong power outlet on the dash.
Last owner spent around $12,000 just before our acquisition (and this does NOT include the paintwork): drained and refilled transmission, drained, removed diff cover, cleaned differential, new brake shoes and wheel cylinders, replaced all metal brake lines, new master cylinder, painted and detailed top frame and fitted new convertible top, new aluminum radiator, new stainless steel exhaust, rebuilt SU carbs, the five new chrome wire wheels, new chrome knock offs, new Michelin ZX tires, new brass door hinges (and the doors DO NOT sag which is most unusual for a Morgan of this era), AND we just painted in expensive base coat/clear coat (no plastic filler, no repairs, three coats of color, sanded, and three coats of clear, and then two days of hand sending and buffing to a show finish). Paint alone cost $8,000.
Truth is, the car, when acquired, was painted in school bus yellow which I thought was absolutely hideous. And now, in deep BRG, gorgeous.
Starts instantly, runs flawlessly, ample performance from its torquey 2 liter 100hp TR3 engine, gearbox feels far better than most, and in BRG with tan interior and new chrome wire wheels, the result is just about as perfect as one can imagine for this 64 year old classic sports car.
