A beautiful example.....excellent body and bright red paint, excellent chassis and wood floors, what appears to be a mostly new interior, nearly new top, side curtains and tonneau, excellent chrome, very clean engine bay, new cloth wiring harness (and nothing ensures long term reliability more than a new wiring harness and the cloth covered ones are the best), recently rebuilt engine (our tests: zero smoke, 150 psi compression in every cylinder, 65 psi oil pressure when warm), spin on oil filter, oil cooler located behind front valance, 15` wire wheels with new radials.....what`s left?
Starts instantly, runs perfectly, gearbox is quiet and has excellent synchromesh, disc brakes and they work well, all original gauges work, no stereo (always the best verification the car was never owned by a `kid`), appears to have all new switches and heater controls, all in all, a dandy MGA.
And MGAs are among the best all around classic sports cars (reasons I love my own 1961 1600 Mk I). Excellent ride and handling, very precise rack and pinion steering, sure braking (with disc brakes, years before Porsche had `em), and those stunning flowing lines Hard to imagine a better looking sports car.
And Spring is right around the corner...
