One of 4400 built, a dandy high speed GT car with with the simplicity of 50s, 60s English sports cars yet with lively performance.

Its 2.9 liter six cylinder engine puts out 150hp and is smoother than its predecessor, the Austin Healey 3000 engine. Improvements include better porting, higher compression ratio, and seven instead of four main bearings. Coupled to a 4 speed gearbox with overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears offering 6 forward ratios. And with its high ratio differential gears, makes for smooth cruising speeds up to 120 mph.

While appearing to be the same as an MGB, it offers torsion bar front suspension, 15` wire wheels, leather seats, factory oil cooler, alloy bonnet, and various other improvements.

A beautiful example of this rare GT, 73,000 (1,400 miles per year) original miles, excellent body and chassis, remarkably well preserved original paint and interior (with leather seats), a very usable car that can only continue to increase in value. Remember, the MG GTs are particularly attractive and useful and while 101,000 MGBGTs were built only 4400 CGTs .

I must say, I love my own MGBGT (a semi `C` with a 2.8 lite Chevy V6) improved with a variety of options we can install on this MGC: full fabric sunroof, powerful auxiliary heater, elaborate music system, even rear disc brakes. And with these, and other, options, my car has proven itself a pleasant warm weather and very usable cold weather classic. Stylish, reliable, fun to drive, and in every way, a reasonable alternative to a contemporary car.
