Not that we don't like them (we do) but MG Midgets generally sell for a price less than our normal parameters. But this one was hard to resist.
Excellent body and deep blue paint, very good chrome, incredibly well preserved interior in Camel. Wire wheels, rebuilt front end, new digital stereo with bluetooth, disc brakes, dual master cylinder, excellent wiring and electrics, excellent floor/chassis, good top, new dual gauge, 3 point belts, a sweet little car.
Its 1275cc engine with twin SU carbs provides lively performance and steering and handling are fabulous. And we finished finished a comprehensive rebuild, new valve lead free seats, new valves, new guides, rings, rod and main bearings, timing chain, new clutch disc, Ready fro its next decade (or two) us fun use.
And possibly one of its best attributes is its utter simplicity. Generally inexpensive (and widely available) parts, simple and easy to keep running, AND it is easy to add modern components to make the car far better than when brand new.........take this 53 year old sports car, add electronic ignition (and never a need for a traditional tune up), add a powerful shrouded electric radiator cooling fan (no worry about a hot day in traffic), add an on-board trickle charger (let the car sleep all Winter with expectations of an instant start up come Spring), and add a back up solid state fuel pump....have a pump failure, flick a switch....and drive home. ALL work we strongly recommend and certainly can add to this or any other car we sell.
