A very unusual car to find in the U.S.A.....a clean, nicely maintained RHD MGB. Shall we say, 'out of the ordinary?'
First of all, and the most obvious, the car has a beautiful dashboard, unseen in the USA. A steel dashboard like the pre 1968 USA cars but with air vents and the radio located in the console. Let me explain:
The first series of Bs in the USA had a beautiful steel dash but with no vents and with the radio mounted in the center of the dash. Due to DOT regulations, the 1968-1971 Bs had what is known as the 'pillow' dash. No vents, not even a glove box. 1972-1976 Bs had a nicer dash, now with vents and a glove box. And finally, 1977 to 1980 with bigger gauges and vents and a glove box.
Which makes this 1972 B so interesting as it was not subject to DOT regulations and has the best of the early and later dashboards. And lets face it, what you see every time you drive is the dashboard.
Meanwhile the rest....two owners, engine rebuilt less than 10,000 miles ago (no smoke, perfect compression and oil pressure) is a Euro-spec unit with high compression pistons and no (never!) emission equipment, just installed new 32/36 DGV Weber carb with electric choke, all synchromesh transmission, new convertible top, boot cover, spotless trunk, original jack and bag, very good chrome, modern digital stereo, what appear to be restored original Rostyle wheels, beautiful interior...seats, dash, panels, and carpets.
Excellent floor/chassis/sills, nice original deep BRG paint, 36,000 original miles, brakes recently redone, has been in the USA for over twenty years and last owner purchased it in Miami.
Something different.
And, of course, we can add any option a buyer might wish....powerful auxiliary heater for a cold weather environment, modern a/c, Minilite or wire wheel conversion, rear disc brakes, all available and all easy to install. We can even dye the interior in a nice light contrasting Camel color. And have factory and after market hardtops in stock.
Starts instantly, runs flawlessly, more power than a US spec MGB, and some neat UK details.
