Just in.....found in NY....very clean floor, chassis, sills, rockers, exterior, no apparent use of plastic filler, no spots of rust, nice red paint.

A drive around the neighborhood found 55-60 psi oil pressure (and with thin oil, no doubt this will increase with an oil change), lively performance, no smoke cold or hot, SU carbs performed properly, excellent transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, all worked well. As did the heater, wipers, all gauges, etc.

Seats, dash top, and door panels are in very good condition. Top fits well but rear windows are a bit clouded. Bumpers pretty good and FIRST THING we did was ditch the ugly and ungainly rubber bumper guards, unique to this year car. And with new chrome bumper guards, huge improvement. Actually, quite fond of 1974 MGBs, last year before the huge, heavy, ugly rubber bumpers yet with refinements such as face level air vents, better drive train and more modern safety equipment. Reasons I own a 1974 MGB.

Has MG steel `mag` wheels, a cheap old radio, basically, sort of `average` for a near 50 year old MGB. BUT, with nice red paint and no sign of rust (thus, in reality, FAR from the bulk of MGBs on the market). Question...what to do?

Our intention, at the moment, is to remove most of the interior and dye it in Camel. Installing a new digital stereo with bluetooth, change oil and filter, lube, check brakes, sort of `spruce it up` a bit. And offer it for sale.

And then? For a prospective buyer, we can offer: a new convertible top, new front and rear bumpers, a nice burled wood dash, Minilite style alloy wheels or convert to wire wheels, a/c or a powerful auxiliary powerful heater, painted and detailed engine bay, pretty much anything. For higher gearing, we can offer a modern 5 speed gearbox conversion or a rebuilt overdrive unit. And for far less money, we can fit a set of new 15` Minilite style wheels with 195/60hR15 radials. What with such a good body and paint, the very nice interior, and a very good drive train, an ideal candidate for improvements.
