Nearly done........a local car that had been sitting for two years, but (as we could see) LOTS of potential.
Our starting point: virtually perfect floors/chassis/rockers/sills, etc. No rust. And an excellent body with faded original paint. And when we installed a new battery, changed the oil and filter, fired it up, we found perfect running, perfect compression, perfect oil pressure, no smoke, excellent clutch, transmission, brakes, on and on.
A good beginning.
And now, just painted in bright red (base cost/clear cost, hand wet sanded and buffed, a complete chrome bumper conversion with side lights eliminated, new Mk I grille, new bumpers, etc). New tan carpets, dash and console dyed ot match, excellent tan seats and panels, wood dashboard, classic looking digital stereo, alloy wheels, painted and detailed engine bay and trunk compartments, excellent convertible top, new wood steering wheel............AND excellent finishing OR starting point
About to be finished, an excellent running and driving car, no rust, excellent body, paint, interior, chrome, etc. BUT as a starting point.......we can install a new 32/36 DGV Weber carb, tubular headers, we can lower the car to pre 1975 ride height, we can fit a thicker front sway bar for more nimble handling, carpet the trunk, and add most any option a potential buyer wishes. Overdrive trans? 5 speed trans? Supercharger, convert to wire wheels (chrome or painted), luggage rack, whatever.
For now, to be priced at $15,900.
