Another in a series of `lucky finds.` Really excellent body and paint, excellent original engine bay paint, 74,000 original miles.
Last owner told us the engine was rebuilt at 71,000 miles, 80 psi oil pressure, 140-145 psi compression in every cylinder, no smoke hot or hot, excellent synchromesh, spotless underneath, no signs of rust, damage, or repairs. A beautiful MGB
AND..............perfect working overdrive, wire wheels with new splined hubs, new wheel bearings, new chrome knock offs, lowered to pre 1975 ride height, rebuilt front end, new springs and bushings, AND a complete, professional chrome bumper conversion with all new chrome, Mk I grille, new lights, sheet metal, hardware, brackets, and then we even eliminated the side lights and matched/blended in the paint on the four corners. And a new Weber carb with electric choke and tubular racing headers.
Excellent original wiring harness (to me, looks new), excellent electrics, everything works (even the clock), new stereo/CD with USB input, carpeted trunk, and ALL of the sophistication of a later model MGB: electronic ignition, thermostatically controlled radiator fans, larger and better radiator, front and rear sway bars, stronger trans and back axle, modern safety equipment, power disc brakes, a far superior car.
ALSO.........new top and boot cover, new wood dashboard, new wood steering wheel, as a fun cruiser, even as a general use alternative to a contemporary sports car, this is one wonderful classic MGB.
