An interesting project (as so many of these cars are)......rebuilt 3.8 liter Buick V6, new Edlebrock four barrel carb, 5 speed transmission, high performance power disc brakes, an incredible MGB.

Can't explain it but the title shows 10,000 'Actual' miles. It is not for me to outguess the Massachusetts Department of Motor Vehicles so, as far as I know, this car has "10,000 actual" miles since new.

Is it possible? Of course it is possible. On many occasions, I have come across forty, fifty, or sixty year old cars that had an odd history and very low mileage. One sad story was an MG purchased by a fellow out of High School, went to Vietnam and never came back. And the car sat in his parent's garage until they died. When we purchased it, 7,000 miles from new.

Either way, a nice car.....no rust, very nice deep blue paint, excellent Camel interior, very good tan convertible top, Minlite alloy wheels with new performance radial tires. Engine bay is quite clean and has been upgraded with modern fuses.

One of the nice things about a late model MGB (that is, 1977 to 1980) is having a larger radiator, electric cooling fans, better instruments, more safety equipment, stronger back axle, and even a clock (and, yes, this one works). Also, the later cars were designed by the factory to have a roomier engine bay to accept a Rover V8 (which the board of directors would not allow as there were more members of the board from the Standard Company and they didn't want a MGBV8 convertible to be in competition with the V8 powered Triumph TR8 or Triumph Stag). And when the torquey 3 liter engine went into the MGC, the back axles on all MGBs got the same unit, capable of taking a lot of torque.

The most powerful MGBs, 1965-1967, were rated at 98h, the least powerful were the single carb 1977-1980 Bs at 62.5hp. So you can appreciate that an MGB with 235hp can be a very exciting classic sports car.

At the moment, this car is undergoing a complete professional chrome bumper conversion and should be done in a week or two.
