Came in as one of those late model marketing `Specials` with alloy wheels, lower body stripes, etc. Gotta say, not so `special` in my mind. But it was in excellent condition, no apparent rust underneath, beautiful black paint.......an excellent starting point.

See, later cars were far superior to earlier MGBs but suffered three tiny deficiencies....ugly, gutless, and ill handling. Hence we performed the following: lowered to pre 1975 ride height, Japanese improved Weber carb (a Mikuni), and a complete professional chrome bumper conversion, all new chrome, sheet metal, lights, brackets, hardware AND we eliminated the side lights. Making the exterior nearly identical to the earliest and best looking of MGBs.

Interior, in tan, is gorgeous, with the addition of a beautiful wood dashboard. And converted it to wire wheels with new splined hubs and new knock offs, 185/65 radials. New wood steering wheel, stereo, luggage rack, spotless trunk, very clean engine bay with excellent original wiring and electrics, premium twin pipe exhaust, power assist for the disc brakes, stronger gearbox and back axle, larger radiator, all in all, a lovely classic that can be used all year `round.

And the black with tan is absolutely spectacular.
